I’ve been too darn busy to post much about what I’m reading these days, but I spent a delightful half-hour this afternoon drinking some good Grounds for Thought coffee and reading print-outs of a couple of blogs. Not surprisingly, a lot of what I had to catch up on was from the Blogosphere of the Libertarian Left crowd. Here’s some highlights:
- Freeman, libertarian critter, who has given his blog a nice remodeling, reads from the Agorist Quarterly on land enclosures, and comments on Reisman‘s review of Studies in Mutualist Political Economy. The decentralized dust-up continues!
- Sheldon Richman is somebody I’ve been reading more closely lately. He’s been involved in the recent debates about the French labor law protests and also commented usefully on the JLS Kevin Carson issue. His new column for The Freeman, “Full Context,” is one of a number of recent pleas in libertarian circles for careful, intelligent debate. I recommend it.
- I also recommend Roderick T. Long’s recent “Rothbard’s “Left and Right”: Forty Years Later,” which compares that essay to Herbert Spencer’s “The New Tories,” and moves from that comparison to some cogent observations on the relationships of “left,” “right” and “libertarian” in the present day.
